After each of
our articles we have a comment section in which people are
invited to share their opinions. Preference is given to
comments that contain data and/or evidence, rather than mere
opinion. Generally speaking, all
comments are posted, except those that are mean-spirited,
defamatory, or argumentative. Fortunately our contributors
rarely do this, so most of the comments eventually make it
online. But one problem with the system is that it is
designed to e-mail you every time a comment is added, and many
people didn't want to get multiple e-mails. So we adopted a
system of trying to confine the comment additions to once per
day. When we get multiple comments, this results in some
comments sitting for awhile as day-by-day a new comment is
posted. So if you don't see your comment posted right away, it
doesn't mean that it has been eliminated. It just means we have
a lot of comments in line. Another problem with our system is
that the large number of comments means that if I want to answer
a comment, other people have to wait. Since our research is
reflected in each section, it seems unfair to hold back other
people while we chirp in again. Hence, some time can go by
between my comments. It's not for lack of interest.
EXPRESS YOURSELF
At the end of each article we have a link
that takes you to an online questionnaire that lets you express
your opinion about a particular subject highlighted on that
page. Was Jesus Married? Was Joseph a Carpenter? Was Mary from
Magdala? Give your opinion and then see what others have
said. |
